Module Install.Desk Vulnerability Management
The ever-increasing interconnectedness of development involves a number of risks that must be identified and monitored. In order to detect and fix critical vulnerabilities of the installed software on the clients, we developed the module “vulnerability management” in the version Install.Dek 4.0.
Vulnerability Management
The new module Install.Desk Vulnerability Management helps you identify critical security holes in your IT and eliminate risks through CVSS and CVE certified action recommendations. As a basis, the internationally reported vulnerabilities (CVE) and the affected software are collected centrally on our server and regularly compared with the customer installations of Install.Desk via web service.
Comprehensive software scan
Because the new version also provides a comprehensive software scan of all clients on the network, the installed software can be intelligently reconciled with the affected software reported by the known vulnerabilities. This automatically identifies and displays the vulnerable clients and vulnerable software in your environment (vulnerability scanning).
Quick fixes of vulnerabilities
The system proposes vulnerability policies and fixes to address identified vulnerabilities as quickly and easily as possible. In addition, vulnerability management helps the administrator set automatic response routines as installable jobs and packages. You can run the installation jobs to resolve the vulnerabilities as usual immediately, at the next reboot, or on a scheduled basis.
Dashboard – always keep an eye on the security status
The dashboard always shows you the most important information about the security status of the Windows clients. Graphed here are the distribution of relevant vulnerabilities and affected clients by severity, the most vulnerable software in the system, and the most vulnerable clients with the largest number of vulnerabilities.

Install.Desk 4.0
Scan and Inform – Now with hardware data and all software data
Install.Desk 4.0 now offers a scan of essential hardware data and all software data. Thus, the software installed there is always displayed for each client. In addition to the currently installed software products, Install.Desk 4.0 also shows a software history and thus any changes that cause installations or uninstallations on the respective client. In addition to the scan data in Install.Desk 4.0, there are also various new reports, such as a device overview, hardware overview, software overview of all clients.
New user interface
Completing installation jobs and tracking installation status has been completely redesigned and brought together in a new user interface.
Improved automatic installation
Also, the automatic installation of jobs by the FIS service on the client has been improved and expanded to meet all the new security requirements of Windows 10. Also the communication from the Install.Desk server with the respective clients was implemented even more secure and more susceptible to interference.
